Step-by-Step: How to Download Your YouTube Data

  1. Click the button above to open the YouTube section of Google Takeout.

  2. Log into your Google account, if you’re not already logged in.

  3. If you’re redirected to the homepage or login screen:
     🔁 Log in first, then return here and click the button again to land on the correct page.

  4. You’ll see YouTube and YouTube Music already selected.

  5. Click “All YouTube data included” to choose what to export (e.g. watch history, playlists, likes, comments, etc.).

  6. Scroll down and click “Next step”.

  7. Choose your export options:

    • 📤 Delivery method: email link or cloud (Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box)

    • 🔁 Frequency: one-time or recurring exports

    • 🗂️ File type and size: .zip or .tgz, split into parts (2GB to 50GB)

  8. Click “Create export”.

  9. Google will prepare your archive – this may take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours depending on account size.

  10. Once ready, you’ll get a download link via email or find the files in your chosen cloud storage.

💡 Tip: YouTube exports can be large. Use a trusted ZIP tool like WinZip to extract them, and pCloud to store them securely online.
