Step-by-Step: How to Download Your Google Data Archive

  1. Click the button above to open the official Google Takeout page.

  2. Log into your Google account, if you’re not already logged in.

  3. If you’re redirected to the homepage or login screen:
     🔁 Log in first, then return here and click the button again to land on the correct export page.

  4. Select the services you want to include in your export, such as:

    • Gmail

    • Google Photos

    • Google Drive

    • Maps

    • Calendar

    • Contacts

    • YouTube and more

  5. Scroll down and click “Next step”.

  6. Choose your export options:

    • 📤 Delivery method: via email link or direct to Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Box

    • 🔁 Export frequency: one-time or recurring every 2 months

    • 🗂️ File type & size: .zip or .tgz, split into 2GB–50GB parts

  7. Click “Create export”.

  8. Google will begin preparing your archive – this may take from several minutes to several hours depending on file size.

  9. Once ready, you’ll receive a download link via email or find your files in the selected destination (e.g. Drive or Dropbox).

💡 Tip: Large exports are best extracted with a tool like WinZip and securely stored in the cloud with a provider like pCloud.
